Airmen,

We honor the Air Force’s seventy fifth birthday by celebrating our service’s wealthy previous and evoking the gallantry of Airmen who rose to the challenges of their respective eras. In Veteran Chronicles: In Their Own Words, Brig. Gen. Charles McGee displays on his exceptional thirty-year profession as one of many final surviving Tuskegee Airmen. Although Gen McGee handed away in January on the age of 102 after “a life well lived,” his braveness and embodiment of the core values proceed to buoy us into the long run.

This previous July, I had the unbelievable honor of assembly Colonel “Bud” Anderson, America’s final residing triple fighter ace, on the annual Oshkosh air present in Wisconsin. Colonel Anderson’s autobiographical account within the Warriors in Their Own Words podcast is one other enthralling and heroic personification of Airmen rising to the problem to satisfy seemingly unattainable duties and defeat the enemies of their time.

Galvanizing the wealthy legacies of Airmen like Brig Gen McGee and Col Anderson requires us to proceed constructing an enlisted and officer corps that represents the most effective the Nation has to supply. Managing Generation Z: How to Recruit, Onboard, Develop, and Retain the Newest Generation within the Workplace by Robin Paggi and Kat Clowes is a sensible information for leaders in any respect echelons to grasp, recruit, practice, and lead the following era {of professional} Airmen.

Tomorrow’s Airmen face renewed Twenty first-century challenges of managing deterrence, making ready for near-peer battle, and innovating an up to date pressure design. Nudge: Improving Decisions About Health, Wealth, and Happiness illustrates the best way to reframe these depraved issues by utilizing “nudges” to keep away from bias and acknowledge delicate cues to change how we make choices.

Airmen are our legacy. We will proceed to be the world’s biggest Air Force as a result of Airmen have all the time risen to the problem. Airmen, not know-how, constructed and refined knowledgeable tradition that by no means stopped bettering the employment of Airpower. We carry that ethos ahead by rising the following era of American Airmen that may “Accelerate, Innovate, and Thrive” in the course of the subsequent 75 years.

Fly, Fight, & Win…Airpower Anytime, Anywhere!

Sincerely,

CHARLES Q. BROWN, JR.
