The Luke Days 2022 air show, which was scheduled to happen March 19-20 at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, has been canceled.
“Due to logistical and economic strain, as well as COVID-19 challenges, base leadership deemed it in the best interest of all parties to cancel the 2022 show and looks forward to overcoming these issues for future events,” in response to a Feb. 16 assertion.
The widespread air show, in which the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team have been scheduled to carry out this yr, usually takes place each different yr. The final occasion was held in 2018, and the 2020 occasion was canceled as a consequence of COVID-19.
“Unfortunately, as a consequence of ongoing provide chain points, rising prices of services, and different associated results of COVID-19, I made up my mind the perfect plan of action was to cancel this yr’s show,” Brig. Gen. Gregory Kreuder, 56th Fighter Wing Commander, said in a statement.

Though the following show can be scheduled for 2024, the 56th Fighter Wing command group plans to “explore opportunities to host one earlier, if possible.”
